Homework Expectations
Monday - Thursday
Reading - 20 minutes every night
Math - Complete sheet in planner
Reader's Response - Students are to set up a Reader's Response as indicated on the example page in the front of their Reading Journals. Some nights the Reader's Response may be specified, other times they may choose one of the responses we have gone over in class (so far: 1, 2, 3, or 5). Students are to write a response based on one of the books they have read for nightly reading. Handwriting is to be neat and the date, title of the book, page numbers, and reader's response number should be clearly labeled.

Reader's Response Choices and Example
Spelling Choice - There is a sheet glued to the front cover of the students' planners. These are only suggestions of what students could do for spelling homework. I would like to see creativity in homework so if they come up with another way to spell their words, then I am open to various ways. If it is something that cannot be brought in (website activity, drawing words in rice or sand, etc.), please write in planner what the activity was and sign next to it so I know it was completed.
